MGI the parent company of
Xpect Discounts has announced that it will be closing it's 48,000 square-foot supermarket location at 100 Newtown Road in Danbury, CT on March 1st. Xpect Discounts has had a major presence in Connecticut since the 1980's and offers a full line of grocery and offers Deep Discounts on Closeout merchandise. This is the fourth store to close in the district; Methuen, MA (2002) Derby, CT (2012)
North Haven, CT (2013)
Milford, Cromwell, East Haven Stores will remain open as well as the distribution center and corporate office in North Haven. MGI also operates over 60 stores under the name "Marcs" in Ohio.
Xpect Discounts is one of two companies in the United States authorized to sell overstock Target merchandise
2/20/15- MGI anounced that all XPect Stores will vacate Connecticut in 12 months

You have devastated the people in our area who have made Expect their primary grocery shopping store.
ReplyDeleteIt was also a place to spend time looking at all the closeouts merchandise and having lots of fun doing so.
The cost of living in our State is not easy for the young and elderly and your Corporation has robbed them of the ability to feed and sometimes cloth their families on fixed incomes.
I hope your stock holders read this and realize the strain they have put on many families in our area.
